On March 31st, I will be presenting my A Day Full of Azure Data Factory training day at SQLBits 2020. Yay! 🤓
SQLBits is one of my absolute favorite events. I was literally jumping up and down when I got the news that I was selected as a speaker! 🥳 In addition to presenting a training day session, I will present a general session, and volunteer again on the other days. Woohoo!
If you are considering registering for SQLBits 2020, I highly recommend that you make a decision and register as soon as possible. Why? Because the prices go up on January 11th! Early bird pricing is only £999 for two full-day training days and three conference days. That’s a bargain! From January 11th, the price goes up to £1199. From February 15th, the price goes up to £1499.
Training Day at SQLBits 2020
I recently finished my Beginner’s Guide to Azure Data Factory blog post series. My training day at SQLBits 2020 will start from scratch and cover all of these topics, but also much, much more. Read the full abstract below:
A Day Full of Azure Data Factory
With the ever-increasing volume, variety, and velocity of data, it can feel like a daunting task to create and maintain modern data integration solutions. In this full-day workshop, you will learn the skills you need to build and orchestrate hybrid, complex and scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
We will start with a conceptual overview and cover the fundamentals of Azure Data Factory, including source control, security, and pricing. Then, we will build a metadata-driven solution to move data between on-premises and cloud sources, and continue to improve on this solution to make it more robust, dynamic and reusable. As we move from individual development to team development, we will configure monitoring, logging, and alerting, and review options for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using Azure DevOps. We will cover and compare Mapping Data Flows and Wrangling Data Flows, before we look at how to leverage SSIS lift and shift to gradually modernize existing solutions while retaining investments already made.
If that’s not enough content for one day, you will also get access to a set of hands-on labs that you can work through at your own pace. Whether you are new to Azure Data Factory or have some experience, you will leave this workshop with new skills and ideas for your projects.
Other Training Days
If you have previously attended one of my Azure Data Factory workshops, I still recommend going to SQLBits! You can choose from 20+ other training day sessions, plus the three days of regular sessions 🤩
Oh, and if none of these community-led workshops are perfect for you right now… keep checking back! The Microsoft-led training days will be announced later in January.
See you in London!
Will you be attending SQLBits 2020? If so, let me know which days you’ll be there! I’ll be wearing a bright orange shirt as a helper and should be easy to spot. Please come and say hi if you see me 👋🏻
